ABSTRACT: The emergence of new growth centres and the developments of housing estates and industrial areas along the road's corridor are the important features that will stimulate the region's continued growth. Such an urbanisation development would lead to an increased mobility and hence an increased traffic on a roadnetwork. The changes in the land-use surrounding the facility would generally affect the traffic pattern on the road facility. A traffic impact study is a term commonly used by transportation planners and traffic engineers to describe the way in which traffic generated by changes in land use will be catered for by an existing or future road network. The term “traffic impact” has been frequently applied to the study process because technical analysis considers the effect of development generated traffic on the road network.
