Week of December 14-18 Happy Holidays! This week the students will continue to learn about holiday celebrations around the world. Our gift to you, will be no reading and language arts homework this week. No Spelling Test This Week!! Polar Express Day Don’t forget to send your child to school in his/her pajamas for our Polar Express Day on Friday. Please join us from 12- 1 for our class party. You may sign your child out after the party to start enjoying the holidays! Math Module 10 – Number Patterns to 120 10.5 Skip Count by Tens 10.6 Count by Tens to 120 10.7 Problem Solving: Ten More, Ten Less Module 10 Assessment This module prepares the students to count money in Module 9. We will do Module 9 when we return from the holiday. NO Timed Facts Test this week! Please read over the day’s lesson and choose one or two problems to discuss with your child. If she or he can teach the concept to you, then you know mastery occurred. Math homework goes home every day, but Friday, in the red folder. It is to be returned the next day. Homework is not graded, but checked, and teachers keep track of whether the homework is done or not as a report card requirement. Timed math fact test goal sheets are to be kept in the back pocket of your child’s red folder in order for you to know what facts to study each week. Science LASERi3 – Soils We will conclude our unit over soils this week. Thank you, parents, for sending in the donations for the party! We really appreciate your helping us make the party a success. Reminder: All party supplies are due Wednesday, December 16th. IMPORTANT INFORMATION All students MUST walk/run track every day as part of the state of Texas requirements for physical fitness. Please wear appropriate shoes for track, recess, and P.E. Please continue sending signed notes within 3 days of your child’s absence from school. Students must be fever free without fever reducing medication for 24 hours before returning to school!
