What We Learned
This Week…
Math – This week we learned how to divide fractions by
whole numbers and whole numbers by fractions. We also
used our problem solving skills to solve real world
problems involving multiplying and dividing fractions.
Reading – We continued our unit on non-fiction by
exploring non-fiction books and databases. We also
learned how to stop and jot when reading non-fiction.
Next week we will identify the main idea of a text.
Writing – We prepared ourselves to write an informational
piece by taking notes and using headings to organize our
notes. Next week we will learn how to write a summary
paragraph with a main idea and supporting details.

Science – This week we finished constructing our own toy
cars with wheels and axles out of recycled materials. We
will race next week! We also learned about gears and
experimented with how gears work.
