What We Learned
This Week…
Math – This week we reviewed how to find the surface
area of cubes, rectangular prisms, and triangular prisms.
Then we learned how to find the volume of rectangular
prisms and liquids.
Reading – During the days of PARCC testing, we are
spending time reading aloud The Fabled Fifth Graders of
Aesop Elementary School in preparation of the author,
Candace Fleming, visiting in April.
Writing – We completed our drones text set by using the
information from the articles, infographics, and videos to
create brochures persuading readers to either allow drones
or ban drones.

Science – This week we continued to discuss the properties
of air. After learning about gravity and air resistance, we
compared different size parachutes to see how surface
area affects its speed.
