What We Learned
This Week…
Math – This week we reviewed 3D figures like prisms,
pyramids, cylinders, and cones. Then we practiced drawing
solids. We also learned how to find the surface area of
cubes, rectangular prisms, and triangular prisms.
Reading – We continued our unit on text sets by reading
articles and watching videos on drones. We compared and
contrasted information across articles and discussed the
pros and cons of using drones.
Writing – We worked with our drones text set to respond
to essential questions. We synthesized the information
from the articles, infographics, and videos to write an essay
taking a stand on the issue of drones.

Science – This week we learned about the properties of air
that make flight possible. We demonstrated that air takes
up space and that air has weight. We also watched a video
on the history of flight.
