Miss Jackson’s Class Weekly News Central Avenue School What We Learned This Week… Math – This week we practiced dividing by one digit divisors and estimating quotients. We also learned how to find the mean, or average. Next week we are looking forward to dividing larger dividends by two-digit divisors. 11/4 – 11/6 Dates to Remember Thursday 11/14 Math Clinic 8:10 am Reading – Since we finished Wonder, we completed a variety of projects for the book. Some of us created songs about the theme, others illustrated important scenes, and some wrote journal entries about the characters. Writing – We reviewed parts of speech this week and did Mad Libs with a partner. We also began preparing to start our new writing unit, persuasive essays, next week. We already started thinking about issues we want changed. November Birthdays Caleb – 11/11 Jack – 11/14 Science – After reviewing pond life, we took the unit test. Then we continued to construct our 3-dimensional models of pond life organisms. We can’t wait to start our new science unit next week… simple machines!
