Miss Jackson’s Class Weekly News Central Avenue School What We Learned This Week… Math – This week we reviewed ratios, percents, and decimals and practiced comparing fractions, percents, and decimals. We also learned about rates. Next week we will learn how to find the percent of a number. Reading – We continued our fantasy unit by discussing the external and internal conflicts that the main character faces in our fantasy books. We explored how poets use figurative language and then wrote our own poems using similes, metaphors, personification, onomatopoeia, & alliteration. June Birthdays Science – This week we continued learning about Earth’s rotation and revolution around the Sun. We also discussed the moon’s rotation and revolution around the Earth and observed the phases of the moon. Remember to sign and return the D.A.R.E. Trip and Pool Party permission slips.
