What We Learned
This Week…
Math – This week we reviewed ratios, percents, and
decimals and practiced comparing fractions, percents, and
decimals. We also learned about rates. Next week we will
learn how to find the percent of a number.
Reading – We continued our fantasy unit by discussing the
external and internal conflicts that the main character
faces in our fantasy books. We also took note of what our
characters think, say, and do while we read.

Writing – We continued our poetry unit by learning about
figurative language. We explored how poets use figurative
language and then wrote our own poems using similes,
metaphors, personification, onomatopoeia, & alliteration.
June Birthdays
Science – This week we continued learning about Earth’s
rotation and revolution around the Sun. We also discussed
the moon’s rotation and revolution around the Earth and
observed the phases of the moon.
