Marcel Landau Marcel’s company, LSM Consumer & Office Products, is 5 years old and is the amalgam of 35+ years knowledge and experience in the Packaging and Office Product Industry, having built up and sold his previous business in the same sectors. This Company was Marland Ltd, started by Marcel in 1971 which manufactured from its base in Lincolnshire and which latterly employed app.75 people with a turnover of ca.£8m. Prior to starting that business, Marcel was previously employed as Export Sales Manager of Ben Sherman Ltd, Export Sales Executive of Rimmel Ltd and Assistant Export Manager of Dunbee Ltd. Marcel also served as a non-executive Director of Business Link Lincolnshire & Rutland from 2002-2006 and as National Vice Chairman of the Institute of Export from 2003 – 2006. He remains on the Council of the IOE to this day. Marcel came onto the Cranfield BGP in 1995 when his company, Marland Ltd seemed to be in a rut and without a plan as to how to progress for the future. Turnover then was around £2.3m and although making a small profit, was not making adequate returns to justify investments. The Course gave him the understanding and confidence needed to help him form a viable plan and the much needed boost to ensure that it was carried out. Meeting a number of like-minded people with similar problems to his, was incredibly helpful. Following the programme, the Company then began to grow rapidly having identified its potential place in the market, and became an International Company and a leader in its field, and with a Brand that became the UK market leader.
