Madison High School is presenting the much loved musical, The Little Mermaid,
opening March 17. The musical tells the story of a beautiful young mermaid, Ariel,
youngest daughter of King Triton, king of the sea. When Ariel falls in love with a prince
from the world above, she must bargain with the evil sea witch, Ursula, in order to trade
her tail for legs. But the bargain is not what it seems and Ariel needs the help of her
colorful under sea friends to restore order and foil the evil witch.
Based on Hans Christian Andersen's famous fairy tale, and the classic animated film,
Disney's MHS’s production of The Little Mermaid will feature a shipwreck on stage,
and sea creatures that float and fly through their watery kingdom. With music by eighttime Academy Award winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater,
and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its
irresistible songs including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl," and "Part of Your World."
Show dates are March 17 at 6:30, March 18 at 7:30, March 19 at 2pm and 7:30pm.
