NEWS
Oct 2, 2015
We hope that everyone’s school year has started out well. We have been working diligently with the MobileArq people to get our new online directory up and running.
We have had a HUGE amount of families opt in. Even if you have already agreed to be a part of the directory you STILL NEED to register through the link on the CAS website. Once you have registered you should receive a password from the company. Please contact the support email on their website if you do not receive it within
48hours. Once you have registered you should be able to get into the app without a problem.
You may update your information as you choose. If you have not opted in yet- you may still register through the site and input your own information into our school. If you have any questions please contact Haley Blanchard at haleysblanchard@gmail.com.
Thanks
Haley Blanchard

Last year, we had a great program, with a variety of activities taking place throughout the week in each class, lunch, and some of our specials.
Teachers will use a variety of in-class activities during the week to talk about respect and the way we treat each other.
Activities included (but were not limited to):
Bucket Fillers!
Writing prompt: Respect -
"What does it mean to you?"
"Hall of Respect" - Students create artwork to be displayed all together in the main entry by the office.
Teachers will discuss our CAS Anti-Bullying pledge during morning meeting. During lunch, we discussed the subject again, and students will have the opportunity to sign the banner displaying our school-wide anti-bullying pledge.
CAS ANTI-BULLYING PLEDGE
I will make a COMMITMENT to take a stand against bullying.
I will treat others with RESPECT and KINDNESS.
I will have the COMPASSION to not be a bully and the COURAGE to be an upstander.
It is my RESPONSIBILITY to help others being bullied and to report bullying.
We encouraged student to come to school dressed in a different color
for each of the six pillars in our Character Ed program. We will do the same this year. Here are the days/colors:
Mon – Oct 5 YELLOW – This is the color of the Respect Pillar in the “Character Counts” Curriculum.
This color will also symbolize “The Golden Rule” – Treat others as you would like to be treated.
Tues – Oct 6 RED, WHITE & BLUE – These colors will symbolize respect for our country.
Wed – Oct 7 GREEN – This symbolizes respect for our earth and the environment.
Thur – Oct 8 BLUE – This is the color for “Standing Up Against Bullying.” Don’t be a Bystander…Be the Change
Fri – Oct 9 TIE-DYE/PEACE SIGNS – Symbolizes all colors and “Give Peace A Chance.” Respect diversity.

The Rotary Club of Madison will host another Community Shredding day on Saturday, October 17, beginning at 10:00a.m. until 1:00 p.m.at Madison’s Public Parking Lot #1 on Kings Road (between
Maple Avenue & Prospect Street)(across from public Safety building). The event is open to the public, and it is not necessary to be a Madison resident.
Security Shredding, Inc. will provide secure destruction of sensitive documents, after which the shredded papers will be recycled into other paper products. This is not only eco-friendly but counts towards Madison’s Sustainable Jersey Program. Help prevent Identity Theft and Fraud. Clear out some clutter, just in time for the holiday season. Stay and watch your documents being destroyed on the truck-mounted shredder.
The cost is $5.00 per box or grocery bag. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
All proceeds from the shredding event will be “recycled” by the Madison Rotary for future community projects.
For further information, please contact Carmela Moeller @ carmoeller@aol.com.
Among the highlights is a scheduled performance by the Chatham Brass from 1 to 2 p.m. on the
Acoustic Stage located on Elmer Street. The Chatham Brass' Bottle Hill Day playlist will include patriotic medleys, a Sinatra tribute, show tunes, ragtime, Tijuana Brass and polkas. Downtown
Madison is closed most of the day Saturday for the event that includes music acts of five stages, plus food, street vendors and a beer garden.
