INCREDIBLE ART RETURNING TO CAS

This popular PTO-sponsored program needs your help!

Each year, CAS children are invited to learn about the lives and artwork of various artists, and then given the chance to create artwork inspired by those same artists.

Donating only an hour of your time can help to ensure that this program continues to be successful! All materials and information will be provided, including a one-on-one tutorial prior to the classroom visit. No previous art experience is required.

This is a fun and informative program, and a great chance to interact with students at CAS.

Please let the coordinators know if you can help by emailing incredibleartCAS@gmail.com.

1. Me and My Guy Dance registration is now open.

See the attached flyer for details.

2.

The lunch room would love to have you volunteer again. Use the following link to sign up for a date in 2016.

Missing anything?

Check with your student to see if they might be the owner of something on the lost and found table. The PTO will be going through the table soon to remove and donate any long-standing items.

4. Clarification on the email sent out by Class Coordinators: Family Bingo night is JAN 29th as stated on the flyer and in previous newsletters.

If you have items you’d like to donate for door prizes, please drop off in the main office or at

Sue Longenecker’s home (81 Valley Road) no later than Jan. 22nd. Thank you for your help and generosity!

Each year I hear parents asking how they can help their children and I hear the staff share how students thrive with parental support. Having a supportive home and family are so important for each child. Many times the school has no idea what a child is going through at home or what they are dealing with outside of the classroom. We like to pride ourselves on knowing each child, but the truth is that we simply do not know everything or have the answers to every single child’s struggles. We count on families, and most importantly, we count on that supportive communication from parents/guardians.

How can parents help? As a parent, I understand that parenting is not easy. It is exhausting and takes much patience. I also like to share that you can grow as a parent. It is important to learn from mistakes and you should have an understanding that there is no possible way you can be perfect.

Here are two links to help parents: http://www.parenting-ed.org/handouts/Communication%20Handout.pdf

It is important to know that you are the most important entity in your child’s life.

Without your support, follow through, and consistent love students will not be able to grow as students.
