choice exams that will be
evaluated using pre-specified
criteria.
Since students score higher on the
proficiency exam than on the
objective exam, study guides and
lesson outlines will be posted for
each lesson. This will aid
students in retaining relevant
information.

Students will be able to
create and modify queries,
advanced tables, forms
and reports.

hands-on assignments and

will be evaluated using prespecified criteria.
Students averaged 89%
creating and editing tables,
forms and reports.
Students’ scores were
approximately 20% greater
on the proficiency exams
than on the multiple choice
exams. Students’ scores
were about equal on
homework and weekly
quizzes.
Students averaged 81%
creating and modifying
queries and advanced forms
and reports. Students’
scores were approximately
22% greater on the
proficiency exams than on
the multiple choice exams.

importing and exporting
data, sharing data, and
using the Database Tools
options.
Students will demonstrate
proficiency with importing and
exporting data, sharing data,
and using the Database Tools
options in hands-on
assignments and multiple
choice exams which will be
evaluated using pre-specified
criteria.
Students averaged 58%
importing and exporting
data and using the Database
Tools options. Students’
scores were approximately
16% greater on the
proficiency exam than on
the multiple choice exam.
Students’ scores were about
equal on homework and
weekly quizzes.
Since students score higher on the
proficiency exam than on the
objective exam, study guides and
lesson outlines will be posted for
each lesson. Matching definitions
and fill-in study material might be
introduced since the concepts
covered are usually new to
students. This will aid students in
retaining relevant information.
