PhD project: Development of Bayesian models for analysis and design of adaptive clinical trials Application of Bayesian methods enables the statistical model to learn incrementally as the trial progresses. Bayesian modelling provides a clear connection to decision theory, which may guide the subsequent steps in the trial, for example, towards an early termination (if the probability of its success is very high or too low) or further adaptation (e.g. dose levels or randomization rates) as indicated by the available evidence. Intensive simulations of trial dynamics will be conducted. Unique selling points of PhD project in NUI Galway: We offer a multidisciplinary environment, connections to other research groups and institutions (both in Ireland and abroad, in the US in particular), and advanced computational facilities and resources. There is an opportunity for collaboration with the Clinical Research Facility, Galway (CRFG). The CRFG provides infrastructure and expertise for patient-focused research studies.
