Reading Vocabulary Strategy: Making the meaning stick Appropriate Grade Level: Procedures/Steps: 1) Students use post-it notes to identify unfamiliar words. 2) Draw an arrow that points to the word in question in the notes. 3) Use the context of the story, or a dictionary, to discover the meaning of the word. Comments and/or tips: I enjoyed this strategy because the students chose individual words that were unfamiliar to them.
