(West of 101 on Broadway to beach)
1. Visit the “End of the Trail” Historical Monument (1 hour)
a. Take two pictures of this marker (one in front and one in back).
b. Take a picture of Tillamook Lighthouse (if you don’t get a good shot you can
take one from the north end of Cannon Beach.)
c. Stop by a gift store and purchase a postcard of the Salt Cairn replica.
(It is located on Lewis & Clark Street just west of Beach Drive, only 3-4 blocks
south of the End of the Trail Monument. From 101 turn west on Avenue G,
then follow signs.
2. Visit the Salt Cairn Historical Monument (.5 hours)
a. Have a picture taken of you in front of the plaque.
b. Have a picture taken of you in front of the monument.
c. Tape the postcard in the guide on page 5.
d. Answer questions 1 & 2.
Ecola Historical Marker (mile post 27.7)
3. Stop at the Ecola Historical Marker (.25 hr)
a. Have a picture taken of you next to the marker.
b. Answer questions 1 a - b
Cannon Beach Historical Marker (mile post ____ )
4. Stop at the Cannon Beach Historical Marker (.25 hr)
a. Have a two pictures taken of you
- one next to the marker
- the other next to the cannon (carronade)
Hug Point (mile post 33.7)
5. Old Ocean Beach Highway (1 hr).
a. Have two pictures taken of you next to or on the old highway (don’t take the
picture if the tide is in).
b. Answer questions 1 & 2.
