Spanish teacher, Miguel Alarcón, native of Bogotá, Colombia, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Education
degree in English, Spanish and French from Universidad Industrial de Santander. He began teaching at the
same university and moved to the United States shortly after getting married in 2003. In 2004, he and his
wife (also a Spanish teacher) moved to Houston to work with HISD. He likes spending time with his wife
and daughter, traveling, reading, watching soccer, and enjoying art in all forms, especially music. He can’t
live without it! Mr. Alarcón started working at HSPVA in January of 2011.
