HISD Bond to Host Wilson Montessori
Community Meeting
You are invited to attend a bond community meeting to inform stakeholders
of Wilson Montessori of plans to renovate the campus. Please come and hear
from the architect and project manager about the initial design concepts for
this building project and share your input.
This is an open meeting, so please invite your friends, family and colleagues
to join us for this important presentation and discussion. The meeting will be
held at Wilson Montessori, located at 2100 Yupon, on Monday, September 21,
at 6:30 p.m.
Early Dismissal September 22nd
We will dismiss all students at 12:45 pm on Tuesday, September 22nd.
Teachers will be in training from 1:00—3:30 pm. Please make sure to make
arrangements to pick up your child on time.
Attendance before and after a Holiday
As we all know, attendance counts! Did you know that Wilson Montessori
lost more than $54,000 last year due to absences?? We need your students at school in order for them to learn!
In order to acknowledge those students who attend school before a holiday, we will be distributing Free Dress Bracelets to all students in attendance the day before a holiday. The bracelet can ONLY BE USED on the
DAY AFTER the holiday. For example, we will be handing out bracelets on
Tuesday, September 22, the day before a holiday (September 23rd). This
bracelet can be worn ONLY on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th. If you are not
at school on September 24th, you may not redeem your bracelet.

Party at Antidote: Help us kick off our start with a BANG campaign
at Antidote Coffee House on Sunday, September 20th from 3 to 6 pm.
The PTO will serve frito pies, and hot dogs. The fabulous Hilary Sloan
will be performing and there will be activities for the kids.

Fall Festival: Our annual Fall Festival and Lantern Walk will be held
in early November!. This event continues to get better every year with

Target REDcard: Did you know that Wilson Montessori gets a check
every year from Target? Parents and community members who link
their REDcard account to Wilson, School ID # 98808, allow Target to
donate 1% of each linked card sale directly to Wilson! If you have a

Virtue of the Week
Our virtue of the week for this week is peacefulness. Peacefulness is an
inner sense of calm. It comes especially in quiet moments of reflection
or gratitude. It is getting very quiet and looking at things so you can
understand them. Peacefulness is also a way of approaching conflict
with others so that no one is made wrong. It is being fair to others and
yourself.
Our virtue of the week for next week is integrity. Integrity is standing
up for what you believe is right, living by your highest values. It is being honest and sincere with others and yourself. You show integrity
when your words and actions match and you fill your life and your
mind with things that help you to live a good, healthy life.

Attracted to Science
This week in science we will be exploring magnetism. Students will perform experiments to figure out what materials are
magnetic and how different magnets interact with each other.
Be sure to ask your children about magnetic canons and feeling things you can’t see! :)
