9/14 SDMC Meeting Minutes
• Postpone the Meeting Minute Approval for August 17th,
2015 to next meeting
• Review SDMC members
• Review SIP goals: continuous growth of 5% every year
After school tutoring: teachers need to support individual
help in classroom first. After school tutoring.
• Attendance: reinforce the importance of attendance.
• AB honor roll: every nine-week
• Highly Qualified Teacher: make sure certification is
updated.
• Safety: parental perception bullying, encourage parents to
respond the survey
• Chinese Skills for native-speaker students: Mrs. Huang is
helping
• Teacher representative: HW expectation remains.
• Parent representative: check magnet program’s
application process for middle schools, question: do they
lose their spots automatically? Meeting before Oct. 1st for
middle school. Answer to current parents: who’s the
teacher? Curriculum?
• Pre-K: Dr. Penn brought up the question whether to keep
pre-K class or not. SDMC will continue the conversation
regarding this question. Mr. Chang will reach out to the
HISD magnet office regarding our pre-k program.
• Next Meeting is Oct. 5th.
