Sacramental Preparation and Celebration
Sacramental preparation of students is central
to the faith formation of each and every
student. At Father C.W. Sullivan, our grade
two, grade seven and grade eight teachers
work to support the parish team at St. Anne’s
Church in preparing students for the
sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy
Communion, and Confirmation. Sacramental
dates and parent meetings will be provided
through the parish.
REGISTRATION FOR SACRAMENTS
(RECONCILIATION, COMMUNION &
CONFIRMATION)
Parents/Guardians are required to preregister at St. Anne’s church. Specific
information in this regard, will be provided in
communications from St. Anne’s Parish via the
school.
Our Namesake – Father C.W. Sullivan
Father C.W. Sullivan was a champion of the
Catholic Faith in Brampton. Ordained as a priest
in May of 1929, he was assigned to St. Mary’s
Parish of Brampton in 1946. His tireless efforts
resulted in the founding of St. Mary’s Church
nearly 20 years later in 1964.
He is credited with being a relentless advocate
for those in his community and he cared deeply
about establishing a true parish in the Brampton
area. Father Sullivan’s commitment to our
Catholic faith serves our students and staff well
as role model of the importance of perseverance,
prayer and service.
Our Patron Saint – St. Anne
Saint Anne was the spouse of St. Joachim, and
was chosen by God to be the mother of Mary,
His own blessed Mother on earth. They were
both of the royal house of David, and their lives
were wholly occupied in prayer and good works.
One thing only was wanting to their union - they
were childless. When Anne was an aged woman,
Mary was born, the fruit rather of grace than of
nature, and the child more of God than of man.
With the birth of Mary the aged Anne began a
new life: she watched her every movement with
reverent tenderness, and felt herself hourly
sanctified by the presence of her immaculate
child. The Feast Day of Saint Anne is July 26.

Mission Statement
Father C. W. Sullivan Catholic School is
a community of teachers, support staff,
parents, pastoral workers and children
called to work together in an attitude of
mutual respect.
Together, we believe it is our
responsibility to foster intellectual,
spiritual, moral, physical and social
growth within our Catholic-Christian
community.
Students will be encouraged to develop
their talents to the best of their
abilities.
Each child will be invited to grow in
respect for all members of the
community and for the environment.
Staff members will endeavour to foster a
sense of self-worth and personal
responsibility in each student.
We are committed to the development of
each student as a responsible member of
society who follows the teachings of
Christ.
Faith formation is a process of journeying into a
deeper relationship with Jesus. Its primary
points of reference are our own lives and
Scripture. Through prayer and reflection we
come to know Jesus most profoundly and we are
shaped as Christians. The process is one of
reflecting on our experience and being formed by
God’s Word and our traditions. In this way we are
transformed as we become closer to God.
In 2015-2016, we will continue to live out our call
to be a Eucharistic community by promoting and
empowering youth to embrace a catholic
worldview through community, catholic prayer
and sacramental life. The virtues of Faith,
Empathy, Conscience, Hope, Self-Control,
Respect, Kindness, Love, Acceptance and
Fairness will be celebrated daily and students
will be recognized with Virtue certificates,
presented at our monthly virtue assemblies.
Community Service & Outreach Projects
As a community of faith, we show our compassion
and generosity by giving to those in need. We
will continue to look for opportunities to
demonstrate our commitment to Jesus and His
ministry through community service projects. By
reaching out to others, students are encouraged
to become thoughtful and caring members of the
community and to appreciate the importance of
social justice and stewardship.
