A Summer Prayer
Go with God!
Take this prayer with you and keep it in your mind and heart.
As you take leave of our school for the summer, and lay aside notebooks, textbooks, pencils and pens,
Go with God, as God goes with you.
As you begin new projects
Or a well deserved family vacation
As you meet and make new friends
Go with God, and God will guide you.
As you enjoy the summer sun and the summer’s cool blue waters,
Be wise and safe.
Respect the beauty of the earth,
As God’s gift to you,
Go with God as God goes with you.
As you go to quiet places to reflect and to pray,
Enjoy the peace and beauty of private space, and the bounty of your ‘senses’.
Enjoy this new opportunity to experience, to learn and rest well.
Go with God as God goes always with you, and enjoy a wonderfully restful summer!
First day of School
Class lists are tentative due to possible changes over the summer months. On the first day of school, we are asking that students meet in the following areas at 8:45 a.m.:
Sen. Kindergarten – Kindergarten yard
Grades 1 – 3 – Come inside the gym to check the lists with teachers.
Grades 5 & 6 – Line up outside of the Junior Wing
Grades 4, 7, and 8 - Line up outside on the pavement. Teachers will escort students up to the second floor.
Class lists will be placed on classroom doors on the morning of the first day.
New students that are not registered can report to the office.
Please inform the school in writing if you are going to return after September 2nd from vacation. This is important as we need to be able to account for each student for enrollment purposes.

P.A Day - Reorganization
September 12, 2008
Class lists are being created for September. These lists will be tentative and changes may occur in August and early in September. On the first day of school, each child will be assigned to a class. Sometimes it becomes necessary to move students due to changes in class sizes and late registrations and transfers. Re-organization of students won’t take place until the September 12th P.A.
Day. At this time, parents of any children being moved will be contacted. Thank you for your flexibility.
At this time of year, we are sad to say good-bye to some very dedicated teachers who have given so much to our students and have contributed tremendously to Our Lady of Mercy School this past year. We wish them much success as they continue forth with their careers.
From all of us, thank you:
Ms. Commisso for teaching Grade 7 this year and Geography on rotary.
Ms. Paliwoda for teaching the 2/3 class.
An important goal in a student’s life is the development of organizational skills. With this in mind, the teachers and students at Our Lady of Mercy
School make use of Student Agendas.
The agendas help the students organize their work, plan timelines and keep track of important dates in their lives.
They also contain school procedures and important school related information that is valuable for students and parents. The Student Agenda also serves as an important communication tool between the classroom teacher and the home. We have ordered agendas for the
2008/2009 school year.
Mrs. Pileggi for taking over the Grade 3 class in May.
Mrs. Noronha for teaching social studies, religion and family life in the primary classes.
Mrs. Bennett for working with our students.
Ms. Penoloza will be moving to another school.
Mrs. Paolone will be continuing her maternity leave in September. We wish her well with her newborn son.
On the first day of school, we will be sending home a notice requesting $7 from each student to cover the cost.
Report cards have gone home. In the event of changes in staffing, the report card will only state the grade level for next year. It does not contain the room number or teacher. Students will find out this information when they arrive on September 2nd.
– See you in September
The school will be closed on Friday,
June 27 th for the summer. The school office will re-open for registrations from August 25-29, 2008.
