JAVA CITY CONVERTS TO ALL FAIR TRADE
Houston, September 8, 2009 – As part of the university’s sustainability efforts, Java City at the University
Center has converted to serving all Fair Trade coffee. This means that all brewed coffee and espresso

Java City joins four other locations on the UH campus that service 100% Fair Trade coffee. The other
locations are the dining halls at Oberholtzer Hall and Moody Towers, Cougar Grounds at the Hilton Hotel
and Shasta’s Cones & More in the University Center. Additionally, Fair Trade Certified coffee is also
available at Einstein Bros. Bagels in Philip Guthrie Hoffman Hall, the C-Stores, the Starbuck’s in the
Bauer College of Business and the Starbuck’s located in the University Center Satellite.
“Dining Services continues to offer solutions to the campus that reflect the university’s
