FINAL CULMINATING TASK
PLEASURES OF PARENTING:
Purpose:
Only as a parent can one fully understand the pure joy that comes with raising children, but
there is a lot to know and understand before becoming a parent. For your final culminating
task you will create a scrapbook/booklet/power point that will try to provide insight into
the world of parenthood. You will be asked to include an interview, a reflection, poster and
six pieces of useful advice to parents.
This project is worth 15% of your final mark.

Expectations:

You will select a parent to interview. The questions will be based on the ones
created in class. Please include the name, date, relation and signature of interviewee.
The questions and answers must be typed and included as part of the assignment.

You will write reflection # 1 about your personal reactions to having to care for a
baby by responding to the following questions.
 What did you find hard about caring for the baby? Explain.
 What did you find easy about caring for the baby? Explain.
 How easy or difficult is it to be a single parent?
 Was the reality of infant care what you expected?

You will write reflection #2 about your personal reactions to the interview.
 What connection can be made between the parent’s experiences and your
personal views?
 What responses surprised you and why?
 What did you learned from the course and why it is necessary?
 How might this assignment/course change your perspective about your parents
and/or parenting in general?

You will design a poster that relates to issues that affect children.
