SPREADING HOLIDAY CHEER
Students on Lee Burneson Middle School’s eighth-grade White Team visited Play
and Learn Preschool in Westlake on Dec. 11 to spread some holiday cheer.
The LBMS students helped the preschoolers make cards for Kisses from Heave, a
nonprofit that delivers cards and packages to families with sick infants in the
Neonatal Intensive Care Units at Cleveland Clinic, Akron Children’s Hospital, UH
Rainbow Babies & children’s Hospital, Fairview Hospital and Hillcrest Hospitals.
The average cost of each bag is $50 and includes gas station or food gift cards,
sleepers, books, ornaments, snacks and journals.
Students also helped preschoolers make crafts and read them stories. The visit is
part of an ongoing service project between the middle school and the
preschool. In the fall the students collected canned goods that were donated
to the Westlake Assistance program. There is another visit planned for the spring.
