6 WHS ART STUDENTS EARN AWARDS IN
CLEVELAND CLINIC ExPRESSIONS PROGRAM
Westlake High School had six art students earn ribbons in the Cleveland Clinic
eXpressions Art Program this year.
Senior Haley Quinlan won “Best in Show” and a Blue Ribbon for her piece
“Breathing Xray.” Junior Yousef Al-Shinnawi also won a Blue Ribbon. Red Ribbons
were awarded to senior Jessica Hook and junior Mary DeFeo. Senior Amanda
Brucchieri won a White Ribbon. Senior Emma Sullivan won an Honorable
Mention.
The eXpressions Art program is an interdisciplinary program that utilizes the arts to
engage high school students in the world of scientific research. Through projectbased, peer-to-peer learning, students produce creative interpretations of
research conducted by Cleveland Clinic science interns.
Winning works will be featured online and in an annual publication, as well as
included in an eXpressions exhibition.
