Have you seen me? Researchers at Nicholls State University are working to better understand blue crab migrations. This information will help ensure the continued sustainability of the blue crab fishery. We are tagging several thousand mature female blue crabs throughout coastal Louisiana to track their migration patterns, focusing on the Terrebonne and Pontchartrain basins. We need your help. If you find a crab with a tag, please let researchers know: • the tag number (C01108 on the crab shown above) • where you caught the crab • date you caught the crab • presence/absence of an egg mass (and color, if present) There is a $5–$50 reward for every reported tag. Call 1-800-624-2857 or visit www.crabtags.org for more information or to report a tagged crab. Project funding from NOAA, Louisiana Sea Grant
