Temporary Rules Adopted for the 2007-08 Season
1. Commercial fishing vessels allowed to retrieve derelict ocean
Dungeness crab gear inseason (effective 12/11/07 – 8/28/08)
2. Allow for early replacement of up to 10% (effective 12/14/07)
3. Limited derelict gear retrieval project (2/25/08 – 8/28/08)
4. Increased the number of derelict pots allowed from 6 to 50
(6/11/08 – 8/28/08)
Buoy Tag Replacement
4,202 buoy tags were replaced during the 2007-08 season
Buoy tag replacement options with submission of signed declaration
of loss.
1. Up to 10% replaced after the first 30 days of the season
2. Catastrophic Loss (Fire, Capsizing, or Sinking)
3. Extraordinary Event (Director’s decision)
