Thank you for inquiring about the internship program with BG Kids! We provide a varied
portfolio offering sponsors opportunities for exposure in a wide array of media outlets. Our
company headquarters in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Our internships are designed to offer
students an opportunity to gain insight into the development of non-profit through television,
radio, social media and grassroots industry. Interns obtain hands-on experience by working in
jobs related to their career fields and by interacting with professionals in on-the-job situations.
Our internships are only available to college students who are studying and interested in the
following areas: marketing, communications, information technologies, on-line social media and
non-profit development. The internships are available throughout the year and we work with the
student to determine how many days a week they are able to intern. Candidates must be willing
to commit a schedule of 10 consecutive weeks for approximately 10-20 hours per week in order
to be considered for this program (unless otherwise indicated).
A list of the internships available for all semesters is enclosed, as is the application needed to
apply for any of our internship opportunities. Again, we appreciate your interest in our program

The following is a list of the unpaid internship opportunities we have available for all semesters
(subject to change).
INTERNSHIP #1 DESCRIPTION
BG Kids! –Public Relations/Marketing Team, Non-Profit Management
Preferred number of days needed: approximately three per week (20 hours per week)
Preferred major(s): Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Non-Profit Management
Special Skills: time management, customer relationship management, self-discipline and
telephone etiquette.
Job Description: range from 10-20 hours/week.
This position could potentially encompass several areas. Primarily it would be more of a
Marketing/PR internship, but would also be suited for a student focusing on Non-Profit
Management. This position would be responsible for helping to increase the awareness of the
BG Kids! organization within the community. The candidate must believe in the mission and
values of the organization and be able to clearly express these to others within our
community. The candidate must be outgoing and well spoken as they will regularly be in contact
with numerous people within our community, including business owners, executive/marketing
directors, and political figures in order to promote our organization. This position will also have
some responsibilities related to the launch of a community wide magazine that would also
require a level of comfort in sales and advertising. Several administrative duties would also be
required as a part of this internship.
Responsibilities:
-Delivering solid telephone presentations with solid value propositions. You must be very
comfortable on the phone for this to work.
-Selecting, editing and even preparing presentations as basis for recommending sponsorship
programs customized to meet the needs of each prospect.
-Handling an aggressive work schedule of daily sales contacts. The ability to prioritize and
organize work is critical

This role coordinates with the social media team to support their respective missions, ensuring
consistency in voice and cultivating a social media referral network.
INTERNSHIP #2 DESCRIPTION
BG Kids! Social Media Manager Internship
Preferred number of days needed: minimum of 2 per week (20 hours per week)
Preferred major(s): Print or Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Marketing
Special Skills: Word processing, effective use of the internet for research, good communication
skills, excellent writing skills, web development skills are a plus.
Job Description: Social Media Manager position. This person would be responsible for our
social media presence in the community. Responsibilities would include maintaining a calendar
and relevant information used to update our organizations Facebook page. Responsibilities
would also include increasing our overall social media presence by starting and building
presence on Twitter, Instagram, and other social media outlets. This position would also be
responsible for responding to social media inquiries from our audience. This position would
require the candidate to have a close working relationship with BG Kids! Director in order to
ensure that all communications are 100 accurate and in line with our organizations mission and
values.
Responsibilities:
Implement the social media strategy, coordinating relevant social media techniques into all of the
company’s social media.
Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy,
writing editorial, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.
Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar
community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as
needed.
Become an advocate of the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and
answering questions where appropriate.
Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze,
review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
