ITEM Opening prayer INFORMATION - outside in the Marian Peace Garden, Brian led us in prayer and shared the making of the garden – wonderful reflection - thank you to Mr. Boyd and the Shamrock landscaping for creating such a beautiful, peaceful garden Co-Chair A. Pineda update - May was spirit week, Inside out day, Jersey day, Twin day/Fashion, carnival, floor hockey fundraising game against police -dress down day $1.00- raised $500 going to be used sponsoring a child - School Council end year celebration to be determined - Lucy updated on the activities- Sharelife collecting donations for the survivors of the Italian earthquake- www.sharelife.org - Handprints is a program for parent and tot every Monday morning -10:00- 11:30 - Seniors program runs every Tuesday at 1:00pm - employment info is posted on bulletin board outside room#1 - 70 students participated in First Holy Communion- Confirmation to be held May 30 and 31 - Youth Ministry meets every Friday night @ 7:00pm in the church hall - Family Service of Peel is sponsoring a program for Adult women 50+ & Drop in- meetings Thursday 1:00-3:00pm - Vita Manor offers 12 week course for young parents- contact church -Progress Reports go home- last week of May- Gr 9&19 everyone to receive, Gr 11&12 receive if less than 60% - June 16, 17, 18, 19- exams - next year- Reporting cycle to be changed- mid terms to be moved back- trying to encourage all parents/guardians to send their email to office for future communications - ideas suggested- have a signup sheet for those parents who want to continue to receive progress reports - synervoice to go out on Saturday mornings - St. Paul Jubilee Celebration- June 11- need volunteers- Gina organizing food -BBQ to include hamburgers, sausage, veggie burger, drink - Bridgete, Janice, Lucy D- to look after water and pop BBQ’s – Paul will have 2 to use -Volunteers and staff to cook - Staff changes for next year- Patrick Kay, coming from Philip Pocock- Head of English Dept- 14 years English and Drama - Alternative Ed.- rm 204- (10:00am- 1:45pm)- approx. 16 studentsMr. Sturino & Mr. Isabella - Mentoring- grade 12 Open Academic – 16 students- assisting teachers - Web design- Mr. O’Reilly SHSM- Construction, Broadcasting, Environmental - Partnership with York University- teachers in training for next year - new LED sign being for outside to replace old one- can be changed through the office - last Council meeting/?social- June 18- more info to follow
