Defining Moments: Discovering Our Canadian Stories is a project showcased by TakingITGlobal and the National Capital Commission (NCC). This exhibit of 26 unique pieces of art was displayed in galleries all across Canada. The top 13 artists out of over 700 entries were invited to spend a weekend in Ottawa where each piece of art was exhibited in the Winterlude Festival as well as the National Gallery of Canada. Each artist had a chance to answer questions about their work at Winterlude and give a speech at the museum. Ivana Radman, 16, from St. Joseph Secondary School came in 6th place! Prizes included: Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 & Adobe Premiere Elements 9 Cisco FlipVideo Camera Mountain Equipment Co-op backpack Nellie McClung by Charlotte Gray (book) Personalized Canadian Museums Association (CMA) card- granting free admission to museums, galleries and related institutions in Canada throughout 2013. Each artist was also awarded a certificate and a glass plaque with his or her name on it.
