Funding for Invisible Children’s “Cover the Night” Event
PURPOSE:
For the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University
to allocate $200.00 for Invisible Children’s Cover the Night 2012 event.
WHEREAS:
Organized by Western Kentucky University Invisible Children Chapter,
Cover the Night promotes the international advocacy to stop Joseph Kony,
the world’s most-wanted war criminal as deemed by the United Nations,
and
WHEREAS:
The event will be held on April 20, 2012 between 9pm and 3am,
beginning in Mass Media Auditorium, and
WHEREAS:
The funds will cover posters, flyers, alternative forms of advertising,
supplies, and refreshments, and
WHEREAS:
Our Student Government Association logo will be listed as a sponsor to
the event’s awareness and advertising. Such support will increase our
public relations outreach to an internationally recognized humanitarian
movement both on campus and in the community, and
WHEREAS:
Invisible Children of Western Kentucky University has not received
previous funding from the Student Government Association of Western
Kentucky University.
THEREFORE:
Be it resolved that the Student Government Association of Western
Kentucky University allocates $200.00 from General Senate funding for
Cover the Night 2012 event.
