Harris Burdick Setting Description I stood across the street, my mouth hanging open as my eyes rested upon the most startling site. Clouds of puffy charcoal and white smoke trailed from the glow of orange and white flames that escaped from the bottom of the Smith’s house on the corner. The ground rumbled, and I could feel the heat on my face and my eyes burning even in the cool crisp autumn night air. The house roared as it lifted off the ground, and the trees and concrete crackled as the house left the ground. The smell of the rocket fuel burned my nose as I breathed in, and I could taste my fear…a bitter and sour taste that took over my taste buds. I was frozen watching this happen in front of me.
