5. Fundraising
Report
Open House BBQ – Lorraine D. is confirming details with our
BBQ service provider. We are asking Mr. Rhoda to set up the
sound system outside. We have 120 hot dog orders, 161
hamburgers and 15 veggie burgers.
October Halloween Dance – We do one every year. Mrs. Balanyk
is being asked to book the DJ. We are looking into selling glow
sticks on the day of the dance. We can sell them for $1 each.
We can sell Kernals popcorn for the month of November.
Christmas Cookie and Chocolate Chip in December.
Kernals popcorn for the month of January.

Caterina to inquire about finding a Santa for the school and pricing
out.
JOY Day craft – we are willing to sponsor that again - $2 per child
if the teachers agree to participate.
6. Treasurer’s Report
At the end of August 2015 – we are left with $2,896.87 in our account.
We anticipate the BBQ will cost council approximately $500.00. We will
also pay for a DJ for the Halloween Dance.
7. Chair Update
Healthy Minds Body and Spirit grant came through for $1000.00
(Pro-Grant). Thank you to Cindy for submitting that. We will need
to organize an event to spend this money.
Cindy is going to look into the additional $500.00 grant.
8. Principal’s Report

Report
Thank you all for returning and taking the Nominations.
Meetings: October 13th; November 17th; January 19; February 16;
April 19; May 17
Ms. Rossit retired in late August. Ms. Galli is now the kindergarten
teacher. Aleksa is DECE. Mr. Rhoda is here replacing Ms.
Meneses. Ms. Jelovic is full time in grade 1 and 2.
New French teacher – Ms. Tollis
Social worker Christine McLean and a new psycho-educational
associate – Anne Vuillet , CYW is Mark Middleton.
Re-organization – Ministry caps affected the primary grades.
We have 265 students at the school. Four years ago we were at 300
kids. There is a small decline.
Our grade 7/8 class is a class of 29 kids.
Our ipads are in - Ms. Brady has been doing work with individual
classes, helping them navigate and understand importance of digital
citizenship. Working towards bringing own devices.
-Transition and pathways from Kindergarten to Grade 8.
-Portfolio that will demonstrate who each child is; non-academic in
nature. They add to it throughout the year, but by the end of the
year they choose only 3 items.

Reconciliation – February 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at the Church
Parent Meeting – October 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Church
Tour of the Church is given.
Holy Communion – April 10 at 2:00 p.m.
Confirmation – is being done by the Grade 7s and 8s together – the
date is April 14th at 7:00 p.m. at night at the church. This will be
done by Grade 7s for students attending our Parish (St. Martha and
Mary).
October 15th – 10:30 - Thanksgiving Day/Opening Mass
December 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the Church is our Advent Mass
Graduation – June 27th at 7:00 p.m.
Last Day of School is June 30th.
Parent meeting for confirmation is October 15 at 7:00 p.m. Sunday
classes are no longer offered, rather instruction will come from
classroom teachers as well as visits from Father.
