All homework is to be completed in their Words Their Way Notebook. Please, send the notebook back to school daily. 
Tuesday: Write your word sort in your notebook. Make sure that you have the paper categories and that all of the words are spelled correctly. Explain to a parent, guardian, brother, or sister why you sorted your words that way.
Wednesday and Thursday: Choose 10 words to use in sentences that “paint” a picture of the meaning of each word. Underline your word in each sentence when you finish. Make sure to include proper sentence structure! 
Tuesday: Complete an open sort. In your Words Their Way notebook, write an open sort using your words. Remember that an open sort gives you the opportunity to decide how you would like to sort your words. Make sure to use your headings!
Wednesday: Complete a blind written sort. Have someone call out each word while you write the words under the correct heading. Check your work and correct for mistakes.
Thursday: Complete a speed sort with your words. Then glue them in your
Words Their Way notebook under the correct headings.
