That’s what nonfiction reading does for children. Has your family taken a trip to St. Louis? We also watched a movie about Sacagawea. Writing Our top jellybean jar estimator winners! Did you know we are practicing WRITING HOOKS? Ask your child what this means and take a close look at their journals when you read them together. You might notice some of them. In fact, I am using one of the hooks at the beginning of each of these paragraphs! Math I wonder if you have had your child count money with you lately. If not, this weekend is a great time for them to count your spare change. Do they know the names and value of money? If not, please work on it together. We estimated the number of jellybeans in our jar. It took us a long time to fill it. We all did positive things in our classroom to earn the jellybeans. IT WAS TEAMWORK! We took our jellybeans home to share them with our family. We read many of his books and talked about words that rhyme. We wrote about Dr. Seuss. We read Dr. Seuss’s biography. Did you know a biography is a nonfiction book?
