We believe that God comes to us as a real human who can show us the way of life. We understand that both the world and its people are from God and so are essentially good. Furthermore, God has given us this Advent season year after year in order to focus our minds and our hearts on the good all around us. OUTDOOR RECESS Students need to bring the necessary clothing and shoes/ boots with them in order to ensure they are appropriately dressed for outdoor play during the winter season. Recess is part of the school day and a welcome physical break for students. Research indicates that fifteen minutes of fresh air helps students to refocus on their studies. Please keep your child home if he or she is not well enough to participate in all aspects of the school day, including recess. If your child has a medical condition that prevents them from being outside, please submit a doctor’s note to the child’s teacher or the Office. At times, the weather conditions will not allow students to go outside for recess. School staff follow the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board Policy and the Peel Public Health Cold Weather Guidelines which directs schools to modify recess when temperatures reach -20 0C (with or without wind chill) so they are outside for no longer than 20 minutes. If the temperature outside reaches -25 0C (with or without wind chill), the Board policy states that all children will be kept indoors. We continue to monitor weather conditions regularly throughout the day and make decisions based upon our local conditions.
