Jackie called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm
We started with the fair review:
*the Fair Board will be looking at the evacuation procedure and having better signage.
*the Fair Board would like to thank all of the volunteers!
*the Fair Board has heard a lot of positive responses from people, great response from ground
crew after Friday night’s storm.
*Announce contending bidders at auction.
*Better watch for bids at auction-some were missed.
*Should Thursday be advertised as start date? People came on Wednesday and were
disappointed.
*Dweebs too loud for goat show.
*Goat project needs both sides of arena.
*Junk in goat area needs to be moved prior to stalling.
*Livestock registration should take all paperwork.
*Lego judge wanted plans for all exhibits, book states any original plan just needs an explanation.
*Leather craft judge was kind of harsh. Can we get a true leather judge?
*Make sure judges use Danish system.
*Chicken show too long. 2 judges-one for animals and one for showmanship??
*Security issue in goat area-people trying to purchase goats but was that their motive?
*Judges commented on the great level of projects.
*Need skirting for tables for commercial building.
*Parking for exhibitors unloading animals on Friday morning.
*Better signage for Commercial parking.
*Education corner looked great, needs more space and better signage. Activities should be
available for longer time, not scheduled.
*Leaders, make sure to let youth know that when they get in 4th great, they are no longer judged
under tent.
*Autism class to educate judges and helpers.
*Good help in food stand.
*Explorer/Cloverbud judges did not get any water or cookies.
*Change in policy/dates for Foods Review, should be at least one year in advance.
*Thank you signs for superintendents.
*Change in Dog/Horse project making off site training count or have more educational
opportunities on county level.
*Can barn decorations be set up the week before? Lori commented that having barns open
would be a security issue.
*Liked different days for fair projects.
*Didn’t like the mini talent show 2 days.
*Vet did a great job!
*Good Judges-swine, dairy, poultry, Nature Science
*Bad Judges-cats, leather craft
*Move cat show to Sunday to get more entries??
*Swine judge commented on hogs not being clipped.
*Auction-blue ribbon to get in.
*Managerial needs to spell out more duties of exhibitors.
*Chickens should be in the auction.
*Clean up after the storm was great!
*Loading out on Monday morning went well.
*Put explanation of where auction funds go in auction booklet.
*Display shooting sports ribbons better.
*Music and Theatre exhibits to Thursday morning??
*Scrapbooks-can we go back to having a leader judge them?
Secretary’s report: Janet moved to approve with a 2nd by Beth. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report: Lori moved to approve with a change to state Food Stand was 2014 not 2013, 2 nd by
Tracy. Motion carried.
4-H Foundation is looking for a volunteer. There are 4 meetings per year. If interested, let Jackie know.
Committee Liaison Reports:
Livestock-working on building a scale house.
Dairy-great Farm City Day.
Ambassadors-worked at food stand and helped with judges. Will be at Pepper Fest parade and
Rustic Lore parade.
Fair Board-held fair evaluation meeting, parking issues-working to resolve.
Food Booth-new shelving, totals about the same as 2014. All shifts were filled, they recycled
more this year. In 2016, they are trying to eliminate using the Styrofoam containers due to
garbage issue, need refer truck for ice cream.
Day Camp-Hudson moved due to bad weather, about 50 kids at 2 locations.
Old Business:
Grant request (computers)-Lori moved to table due to a change in their needs. 2nd by DaNell. Motion
carried.
New Business:
Eagle Scout ProjectConnor reported on the rabbit project. The total was $937.85 with a budget of $1500.00. Scott
commented that he did a beautiful job. Thank you Connor!!
Jaxson reported on the leather craft display cases. Project turned out very nice! He was over
$51.93. Donna moved to approve the overage, 2nd by Beth. Motion carried.
Leader’s Council 2015-2016 Budget-the committee will be: Phyllis, DaNell, Jackie and Deb. They will
meet at 5:30 on September 10th at the Extension office.
Jackie reported that we will be looking into getting Quick Books for our accounting system. This will
make it much easier for state reporting.
Club Awards ware due on September 9th. The committee will meet at 5:30 on September 15th. The
committee is: Lori, Tracy, Deb, DaNell and Hannah.
Bylaw and Policy review committee will be: Lori, Beth, DaNell and Jackie. Date, time and place TBD.
The Annual Leader’s Banquet will be on October 6th at the Baldwin Legion. The Ambassadors will help
out. Heather will be laid so set up help is needed. Lori will work on entertainment.

Treasurer Elect-Beth (Jackie will help out)
Beth moved to close the nominations and cast a unanimous ballot for the slate of officers. 2 nd by Deb.
Motion carried.
Trip interviews will take place prior to the November meeting. The committee will be: Lori, Sue, DaNell
and Laurie.
The state fair has county banners-the one for St. Croix County is missing. Heidi will check to see if the
ambassadors would like to do this or come up with a contest for county members.
We discussed having club banners at the fair-more to follow.
