Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, located in Hastings, Michigan, is accepting applications for the Nature in Words Fellowship. This summertime fellowship provides a unique learning experience to a promising student writer to nurture and cultivate their writing abilities while surrounded by the beauty of the Institute’s natural setting. The goal of the fellowship is to develop the writer’s creativity by deepening their appreciation of nature through an exploration and interaction with their surroundings. The grantee, along with a faculty mentor, will define a project that will culminate in a complete written body of work. The student will be awarded a $3,750 stipend. Additional funds are available for a faculty stipend and supplies. On-site housing and meal support provided free during the summer months. Applications are due by February 1, 2013
