Council Connection
St. John of the Cross Elementary School Council Newsletter
School Council is a group of parent and teacher volunteers
who work together to enrich students’ learning environment.
This is achieved through:

Fundraising: Last year’s fundraising events supported smartboard maintenance and repairs, student agendas,
classroom supplies and many educational student
experiences such as Scientist in the School and Artist in the
School

Parent-engagement events: The Open House BBQ and
Santa Extravaganza evenings are fun, engaging events
that bring our school community together

School-based services and community partnerships such
as charity events and parish involvement keep the sense of
Catholic community thriving among students
The next school council meeting is March 7th at 6:30 in the
school library. New members are always welcome!
Chair’s Message
2016 is off to a great start! On behalf of the School Council, I
would like to use this newsletter as an opportunity to share with you
the many initiatives we are working on to ensure 2016 is a
successful year for our students. We continue to encourage
parent and volunteer involvement in the events and activities that
lie ahead and look forward to connecting with you in the near
future.
