OSU ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
CHARTER

Statement of Purpose:
Purposes of this committee are to:
. Advocate the increased use of alternative modes of transportation.
. Interact with other related OSU committees and community alternative transportation groups.
. Promote safe and lawful behavior and improved cycling and pedestrian environment.
. Provide leadership in developing and implementing alternative transportation goals for the
university.
. Advise Vice President for Finance and Administration and other parties on alternative
transportation issues.
Organization and Structure:
1.
To the extent practical, membership shall include the following areas of representation:
. Public Safety/OSP--1 member
. Campus Planning--1
. ASOSU--2
. City Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Group--1
. County Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Group--1
. Community representative--1
. ADA representative--1
. Facilities Services--1
. Housing--1
. Faculty/Staff at large--3
. Others, as determined by Vice President for Finance and Administration
2.
Selection procedures: appointments made by the Vice President for Finance and Administration
following committee nomination and selections from committee interest listing.
3.
Alternates for a specific committee member may be designated. Alternates shall be nominated and
appointed in the same manner as regular members.
4.
Meeting schedule: Meetings convened as agenda requires, 1-2 times per month.
5.
Officers: Committee chair & vice-chair elected by committee. Terms shall be concurrent with
membership appointment terms.
6.
Term of service: 2 calendar years. To the extent practical, terms shall be staggered to provide
continuity.
7.
Voting: A simple majority of members shall constitute a quorum. Decisions shall be made by vote of a
simple majority.
