Duties/ Responsibility • Duties - Examine financial statements to be sure that they are accurate and comply with laws and regulations - Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure that taxes are paid properly and on time - Organize and maintain financial records - Assess financial operations and make best-practices recommendations to management - Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses or individuals. From college she did public accounting but didn’t like the hours so she switched to government accounting. • What is a typical day like for you? Cash receipts and make calls to state about payments.
