Pastoral Plan 2015-2016 PASTORAL PLAN School Name: School Mission Statement: We believe that each member of the St. Andrew School community is unique and special and has a positive contribution to make to society. We aspire to be living examples of Christ’s message of love, serving as role models in the Christian formation of all members of the community. We endeavor to “touch the hearts and minds of those with whom we work,” and in co-operation with parents and the parish priest, we will assist children in their own personal development of faith and their appreciation and understanding of the Gospel values. Together, we will provide a friendly and caring environment, which inspires academic excellence, fosters self-esteem and promotes respect for others. We believe that education is a life-long process, involving physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development. To this end, we will strive to promote the full development of children in the image of Christ. Sean Lee Lung Parish website: www.sttimothyparish.com/ Message from the Pastor: St. Andrew School. is under the pastoral care of St. Timothy Parish in Orangeville. We encourage our families to register with the parish, and join us for mass-Saturdays at 5:00 pm and Sundays at 9:00 am, 11:00 am. We are aiming to form St. Timothy Catholic Church in Orangeville as one of the most active and relevant parishes with Youth Ministries in Ontario. We want to offer our youth of the parish the best opportunities to connect with authentic Catholic faith in community of parish life and beyond. We invite the local Catholic elementary schools to promote and support the well-received EDGE programing for Grade 6-8 students held on the second and fourth Fridays of the month during the school year at St Timothy parish and our Rite of Confirmation preparation. We encourage teachers and parents to contact our St. Timothy Parish Youth Minister, Adam Kozak to continue to promote the school-parishparent connection. Message from the Catholic School Council: Our Catholic School Council is an integral part of the school-parish-home connection at St. Andrew School. Through collaborative practices, we support many faith-forming and community-building initiatives and events which develop the whole child and contribute to improved student achievement and overall well-being. We value and depend on the strong partnership that already exists among our parents, staff and parish. We look forward to building on this and to continue demonstrating our united commitment to Catholic Education. In 2015-2016, we will continue to live out our call to be a Eucharistic community by promoting and empowering youth to embrace a Catholic worldview through community, Catholic prayer and sacramental life.
