development throughout the school year. Various math teachers
participated in webinars and state-sponsored co-horts, which allowed
for deeper understanding and networking possibilities.
Students were flexibly grouped for math and literacy classes
throughout the school year based upon classroom performance, KPREP, and nationally norm-referenced data. In addition, RTI
implementation was determined by similar forms of data.
AIMSWeb progress monitoring data was collected on all students
identified as at-risk. This data was analyzed regularly and discussed
among personnel in data-driven meetings.
Students gained more ownership and accountability in their learning
during literacy classes this year. The Daily Five literacy framework
was fully implemented in all grades. MAP assessment data and
reading fluency data indicate tremendous gain as a result of
framework implementation.
Limited math enrichment opportunities were provided to students
throughout the school year.
The Brigance Readiness screener was provided to all kindergarten
students to determine readiness for school. Teachers and staff
members reviewed data to determine next steps.
Magnet students worked as student leaders within our building and
community. Sixth grade students researched and presented to the
student body various careers.
RTI in reading and math was delivered mainly by certified teachers
with support from classified personnel.
CIITS lead teacher will train staff during extended professional
development sessions at end of school year.
Math In Focus/Singapore Method math program was fully
implemented in grades K-6. This method strengthens the
understanding of number sense by allowing students various methods
to "attack" a math concept. MAP assessment data reflects student
mastery.
Everyday Counts calendar was implemented daily in K-3 core math
instruction.
Seven mentors from the community came to school bi-weekly to meet
with and encourage our at-risk population, reaching approximately 8%
of our at-risk students.

In Progress
Structured on-demand writing tasks were performed in grades 2-6
each nine weeks. In addition, on-demand writing tasks were
performed in literacy class weekly as a part of the Daily Five literacy
framework.
Student writing was shared and celebrated by our entire student body
during weekly morning meetings. Academic All-Stars in writing were
recognized weekly as well. In addition, teachers shared proficient
writing in classrooms.
Students were provided feedback at the end of each writing
unit/piece. All students participated in daily writing classes. Peer
editing and scoring was included in addition to teacher conferencing.
Student writing was posted within the classrooms, in the hallways,
and published on teacher webpages as well as in teacher newsletters.
"We Can" tickets were collected monthly from staff and students
documenting good health choices in diet and exercise.
Principal shared documents and framework for PGES with staff at
staff development PLC meetings.
District PLC assisted principals in implementing PGES pilot. Full
implementation of new CEP utilizing the PGES processes will occur in
2014-15.
