Identify and describe the elements of 2- and 3-dimensional space, figure ground, value and
form; the principles of rhythm, size, proportion and composition; and the expressive qualities
of symbol and story.
• Introduce color theory.
• Identify positive and negative space within 2-D and 3-D artwork.
• Examine principles of rhythm, size, proportion and composition.
• Examine and apply proper proportions in portraiture.
• Identify vocabulary and tools in weaving.
• Recognize specific artists and their styles.
• Express and describe emotion and mood in artwork.
Understand how elements and principles combine within an art form to express ideas.
