iMovie: Un Noticiero- 40 puntos
Vas a hacer un iMovie en que tú eres el locutor/la locutora. Necesitas explicar un accidente o un desastre natural ficcional que ocurrió en tu
comunidad o escuela.
Tu video debe incluir:
_________A newscaster introduction (reference p.90 act 4 of your neon orange packet)
_________ What was going on when the disaster/accident occurred
 What was the weather like?
 What day and what time was it?
 What were people doing?
_________A description of the disaster
 What was it?
 Where was it?
 Who did it affect and who came to help?
_________ The effects of the disaster
 Did the disaster destroy anything?
 Was anyone injured? How?
 Where are the injured people now?
_________ Describe at least one heroic event or rescue.
 What did emergency personnel do to help out at the scene?
_________ At least one interview with a witness, bystander, or hero that includes what they heard and saw
 Use the verbs oír and ver!
_________ What will be different in the community after the disaster?
 Use the present tense!
__________ A newscaster sign-off (reference p.90 act 4 of your purple packet)
This is a paired writing and presentation project, but you will need to work in pairs to film the assignment.
 You are responsible for writing the report without the aid of a translator or native speaker. Use of a translator or evidence of plagiarism will
result in a ZERO.
 Try and avoid looking up new words (the max is 5).
 Do not write the paper in English and later translate into Spanish. Start writing in Spanish right away on your first draft.
 Simplify your script and use the Spanish grammar and vocab that you’ve already learned throughout your years of study.
o One person will be the anchorman/woman and ask questions
o One person will act as the interviewee and answer questions
 You will need a friend or family member to record the two of you and another to hold up cue cards if you do not want to memorize the script.
o Upload your video to a site like youtube (I think you can make this private) so it easy to view in class (please do not send me large
video files)
o Test this out BEFORE the due date, otherwise your overall grade will be deducted by 10% for each day it is late
o In the real world, you cannot blame technology when the boss gives you a deadline. Work out all of the kinks ahead of time. Don’t
procrastinate. Have your video uploaded and tested long before the deadline.
