BEEF STEW
PERSON 1
• Put 1 T oil in a saucepan- turn pan on to medium
•
• Gather ½ lb beef ( come up to the front with a
plate
• In a small bowl add 2 T of flour and coat beef
• After person 2 has added the onions and garlic add
the beef and brown on all sides
PERSON 2
• Chop ½ onion
• Peel 1 clove garlic
• Add garlic and onion to pan
• In a glass measuring cup add
• 1 ½ c up water
• 1 bay leave
• ½ tsp sugar
½ T worcestershire sauce
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
• After beef is browned, add liquid to beef
ALLOW BEEF TO SIMMER UNTIL THE
END OF THE CLASS
• Clean kitchen
• When there are 5 minutes left in class pour soup into
a labeled bowl ( label the bowl NOT the plastic
wrap)
• Put bowl in the refrigerator
DAY 2 PERSON 1
• Take beef out of the stew
• Once chopped potato is in the soup, turn it on the
boil and boil for 1 minute
• After it has boiled for 1 minute, turn it down and let
it simmer
• Add beef back into the stew
DAY 2 PERSON 2
• Chop 1 potato
• Add it to the cold soup
• Chop 1 rib of celery and 1 carrot
• Add it to the soup
ALLOW SOUP TO SIMMER UNTIL THE
END OF THE PERIOD
• Make sure there is a bowl with your name on it
• Clean your kitchen
