OVERVIEW

______ / 46 points
On Wednesday, October 14, 2015, the PSAT/NMSQT Test will be given to all sophomore students
and those juniors who sign-up for the test . I encourage all juniors to sign-up!
In preparation for the exam, you will complete the PSAT/NMSQT practice questions as homework, (check out the Khan
Academy videos when you finish), and you will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT practice exam.
We will only be examing the Reading and Writing portions of the text, but I encourage you to also take
advantage of the Math Practice questions and exam!
The good news about the PSAT/NMSQT exam is that it has been rewritten according to the new parameters
of the SAT Exam which will be administered for the first time in March 2016. We will be preparing for the
PSAT/NMSQT exam in class, and at the same time preparing for the new SAT!
Analysis of how you do on this practice test and more formal analysis of the PSAT/NMSQT exam will
give you, your parents, and your teachers a good idea of how your are progressing on mastering the
Pennsylvania Standards and Skills, which standards/skills need additional work and practice for mastery,
and how you might score on the SAT exam in your junior year.
Please follow the instructions below for completing the PSAT/NMSQT practice exam:
1. You will need to use a computer to complete both the READING & WRITING practice questsions. If you do not have
access to a computer at home, I will give you a pass for the NPHS IMC.
2. It is recommended that you sign-up for an account on the SAT College Prep Website, but you do not have to sign-up
to complete the practice questions. I will give you information on how to create an account.
3. To begin practicing, go to: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10/practice

5. Read the directions, then click on "Go to first question".
