Terms of reference: Council’s Membership and Representation Committee Role of the committee To support, promote, oversee and take decisions as appropriate on behalf of Council in relation to matters affecting the RCN membership and their representation. Key responsibilities: 1. To oversee work delegated by Council 2. To support, promote and oversee the implementation of relevant objectives in the strategic plan and the annual operational plan 3. To support, promote and oversee the work on relevant Congress items 4. To make recommendations to Council on strategy 5. To oversee the running and effectiveness of the Trade Union Governance Group Delegated policies remit: • Pay, terms and conditions • Pensions • Improving the working environment, health and safety including violence • Improving the working environment, equality and diversity including age • Representatives structures) • Nursing labour market and workforce planning • Membership categories and their rights • Membership marketing (recruitment, retention, competencies, development and Authority: 1.
