Employment Law Professor Joffe Spring 2015 EMPLOYMENT LAW ASSIGNMENT FOR FIRST CLASS Welcome to Employment Law. I look forward to meeting you at our first class on Tuesday, January 13, at 10:40 a.m. in room 205. During the course of the semester, we will be examining an important and wide-ranging field of law that every lawyer should be familiar with and that touches every working person’s life. In order to start off the semester effectively, please purchase the text and do the first reading assignment. We will be using Employment Law, Third edition, by Richard Carlson (Aspen Press, 2013). Please read the preface and pages 1 – 23 for the first class. For those who like to read ahead, we will be covering pages 25 – 52 for the second class. Bear in mind that I am offering each student the option of preparing a research paper (which qualifies for upper level writing credit) OR taking a final exam. Start to think about which option you plan to take. I’ll see you in class in a few weeks. Meanwhile, good luck on exams, enjoy the winter break, and have a healthy and happy holiday.
