The Cisco® Unified Communications Platform enables
reliable, seamless, and secure health data communication
to drive patient wellness. It optimizes interactions among
healthcare participants, processes, applications, and hardware
components for acute care campus networks, ambulatory
clinics, remote clinicians, and data centers. It also delivers
advanced telehealth services at scale and drives internal cost
efficiencies, increases employee productivity, and improves
patient satisfaction.

We built our platform around the Cisco Unified
Communications Manager, a highly advanced call control
platform for IP-based voice and video that can interface with
existing standards-based systems. With the Cisco Unified
Wireless IP Phone 7925G mobile handsets, nurses can place
and receive calls from anywhere in the hospital, receive
notifications from tightly integrated nurse call systems such as
the Rauland Responder or Extension Nurse, and even access
clinical information systems such as Cerner. This greatly
decreases nurse fatigue and overall steps walked per day.

Virtual Patient Observation
The Cisco IP Phone Portfolio includes highly secure, userfriendly phones featuring full portability of a user’s log-in
profile. Our Cisco DX650, Cisco IP Phone 7800 and 8800
Series, and Cisco Unified IP Phone 9900 Series make userto-user shift changes easy.
The Cisco Virtual Patient Observation solution utilizes highdefinition video surveillance and two-way communications to
monitor patients that are at risk for falls, on suicide watch, and
those who are confused or agitated. With this solution, trained
staff in central operations can observe multiple patients over
the facility’s existing network and quickly alert staff when
intervention is needed.
Wireless, Mobility, and BYOD
Cisco Healthcare Mobility provides a highly secure and reliable
wireless network that lets you deploy mobile applications and
services to support the needs of patients, guests, clinicians,
and staff as they collaborate and communicate. Known as
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), this capability lets healthcare
professionals link smartphones and tablets into their clinical
workflow. Combined with Cisco Unified Workspace for
Healthcare, your team can access the people and resources
they need anytime, anywhere.

Healthcare
Cisco Location-Aware Solutions for Healthcare enables
hospitals to integrate contextual information such as location,
temperature, and presence information into the clinical
workflow, thereby increasing staff efficiency, streamlining
inventory management, and improving in-hospital processes.

Cisco Interactive Services Solution for Healthcare is a platform
that enables healthcare providers to improve the patient and
visitor experience through the use of Cisco technologies
delivered to interactive displays such as lobby kiosks and inpatient room TV screens.

Cisco Virtual Visit builds on the proven, interoperable, and
easy-to-use Cisco TelePresence® technologies to enable
better clinical outcomes through remote care. In combination
with third-party clinical solutions such as GlobalMed medical
carts, Cisco infrastructure and telehealth devices meet the
complex needs of today’s clinicians.
The Cisco Healthcare Intelligent Contact Center solution
provides a centralized approach to a virtualized contact
center. Our solution utilizes Cisco Unified Communications
along with the Cisco Contact Center application to provide a
robust and agent-friendly communication platform for federal
healthcare providers. With this solution, hospital contact
center advice nurses and agents can assist patients with
scheduling of their appointments and pharmacy requests,
provide direction for patient questions and calls, and support
language interpretation services and patient outreach
campaigns.
Cisco Extended Care and Third-Party
Integration
Cisco Extended Care is a browser-based health and wellness
collaboration solution that links patients and care teams so
they can easily interact anytime from anywhere, as long as
they have Internet access. Cisco provides APIs and software
development kits to video-enable clinical and mobile
applications, allowing healthcare organizations to increase
access to care.
