FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Ashriel Dunham Student Centers Marketing Manager 832.842.6262 aldunham@central.uh.edu Shasta’s Cones & More to Temporarily Replace Blue Bell Ice Cream Products April 21, 2015- On the evening of April 20, Blue Bell notified its retailers of a voluntary recall for all of its products, which includes ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet and frozen snacks. These are the main products of University of Houston’s ice cream shop, Shasta’s Cones & More. Due to this recall, Shasta’s is forming a relationship with Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream (www.ashbysicecream.com) as a temporary replacement. The first shipment will arrive Thursday (April 23), and full service will resume Friday (April 24). Shasta’s will continue to serve its pastries, candy and coffee, which are not related to the recall. Shasta’s Cones & More has served Blue Bell ice cream since 2005. With the students, faculty, staff and campus visitors in mind, Shasta’s will continue to provide quality customer service and products. Customers will be notified once Blue Bell products are safe and back on the menu.
